Occupation:
"After graduation I went right to the UW and got my engineering degree. Like many UW engineers, I started working at Boeing in '66. Stayed there only 3 years, but long enough to meet Katie. As Katie would describe it I was clueless about relationships, but she finally nailed my feet down in the '70's. We started our family by adopting Julie when she was 3 days old. We were unable to have children, so we started the process to adopt #2 when Katie became pregnant with Scott, and then 2 years later our twins Pam and Laura were born. With 4 kids we have spent a lot of our time doing family things -
camping with a speedboat in Easter Washington, trips to Disney Land and through the canyons of the Southwest. This summer Katie and I will celebrate our 32nd year of marriage.""Highlights over the last 40 years a three week trip in Europe when we were first married traveling with my sister and brother-in-law through Germany, France, Netherlands, and Italy. A trip to the Antarctica as my 80 year old mothers traveling companion. Then 1998 a 3 week trip to Mexico with 450 high school kids trying to help them understand a little about cross cultural missions. Last year a trip to that same dusty dirty place cooking for 250 kids. Finally, a 3 week trip to Thailand visiting my sister who had just gotten married to a MI grad who is retired there."
"Memories from MI
- Being proud of a 6 step geometry proof and Pat Haney Anderson sharing her simpler 4 step proof.
- Going to south Mercer with Craig Hill and dates and having a little too much beer. As we headed home, the pony keg fell on the floor. Craig put the keg back on the seat, but did not notice that the air tap was on the bottom. Needless to say, my parents 2 year old car smelled a lot like beer the next morning.
- Breaking my toe in track, so I got to be stage manager for the school play that spring.
- Dances in the Mushroom after football games."
