61/62 – Exchange student at Mercer Island High, feeling accepted and at home with the Websters, Wilkinsons and Studebakers, made friends for a life-time

63 – Abitur back in Bremen, Germany

64-69 – Studied English and French at the Universities of Gottingen, Cologne and Bonn

69-99 – Married to Dieter Niederhausen

77 – First time back on Mercer Island with husband and daughter, from then on regular visits with the growing family (2 daughters, 1 son)

Taught English, French and German in grades 5 to 10 until 2008

Current State: Retired, single, reading to children in kindergarten, taking care of neighborhood kids and dogs, traveling and sailing with friends.

Fond memories: Jim Wichterman who brought me to Mercer Island, saved me from becoming a “vegetable,” introduced me to the ‘relaxed program’ during many summers at Lake Sammamish; Louise who has been sharing deep thoughts, laughs and silliness with me ever since we met.
